The loss of freedom to read is the most serious way in which a state can harm the minds of its citizens. In addition, calling certain kinds of knowledge “forbidden knowledge” is a means of lowering the economic efficiency of humanity. It’s a waste, it’s a crime, it’s a stupidity. Finding and publicizing examples of this form of immorality is the mission of readfreedom.com.

Access to knowledge is a right of every human being. Deciding what to do with that knowledge is the test of a person’s humanity. I thoroughly agree with the point of view expressed by Mike Carpenter. (He must be a very intelligent and wise person.) When a government (or other entity in a position of power) limits the knowledge accessible to others, it demonstrates its hatred of the governed. To paraphrase: “Where secrecy is, the lying begins”
